Barn Blurbs – 4/18/12

Good news was heard ’round Gopher Nation this week when Trevor Mbakwe officially announced via Twitter and a cool YouTube video that he would be returning for his tenth and final season at the college level. This, of course, means that Gophers should be taken extremely seriously next season, returning essentially every player they had this year, with the exception of Ralph Sampson. Let the expectations fly!

  • Joe Lunardi took a stab at putting together his first iteration of Bracketology for next year’s field. An asinine undertaking, but fun nonetheless. He has the Gophers in as an eight seed at this point. Not a bad place to be.
  • Bo Ryan is acting like a child now that he’s gotten word that redshirt freshman Jarrod Uthoff wants to transfer to be closer to home in Iowa. Ryan has exploded to the tune of restricting Uthoff from playing across two conferences as well as Marquette and ISU…for now.
  • Andy Katz provides his Top 25 heading into next season and has the Gophers at #24. Hard to believe that Indiana has already elevated itself to the best team in the land. The Big Ten looks to be super strong again next season.
