or at least will be sometime Wednesday. It is being widely reported that the nearly seven foot tall, 300 pound center has verbally committed to the Gophers and will be sending in his letter of intent sometime on Wednesday, the first day of the late signing period.
Walker, the #9 ranked center in the class of 2010, should find a home under the basket, and also drifting out towards the three point line where he has a solid outside shot. The Gophers ran a lot of high pick and roll/pick and pop last season, and he seems to be the perfect player to continue this.
He is a great acquisition, especially this late in the season, and especially for a team dealing with some real depth issues in the post. He also happens to be Canadian, and a childhood friend of Devoe and Corey Joseph. When Tubby Smith was hired to coach the Gophers, we knew recruiting would improve, but who thought he would open a Canadian pipeline?
