Just a short FYI that I am sure more than a few of you are interested in.

Regular season single-game tickets go on sale October 5th, 2009 at 9:00 am, in person, over the phone, and on-line.

The official release from the U of M ticket office:

Single-game tickets for the 2009-10 University of Minnesota men’s basketball season will go on sale beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5. The Gophers open the 2009-10 slate on Friday, Nov. 13 vs. Tennessee Tech at Williams Arena (7:00 p.m.).

A limited amount of upper level seats, obstructed seats and single seats will be on sale for all of the Gophers home games this season, starting at $35. Additionally, season tickets are still available for the 2009-10 season.

Minnesota’s home schedule contains 17 games at “The Barn”, including a matchup with the Penn State Nittany Lions to open the Big Ten schedule on Dec. 29. Ohio State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Purdue and Iowa will also make an appearance at Williams Arena.

Fans interested in purchasing single-game tickets may call the ticket office at 612-624-8080, or toll free at 1-800-U-GOPHER. Tickets may also be purchased through Minnesota’s official athletics department website, www.gophersports.com.

There isn’t much need to say it, but I will anyway. This will be the toughest ticket to get in town, and this may be your only chance to see the team in person this year. As I learned the hard way with the football team, if you have a chance to get tickets, don’t wait, because they will be gone before you know it. If you want to save $5 per game and guarantee yourself a seat for either the Wisconsin and Michigan State games, or both, you can also buy one of three packs that are .

Also, we are less than two weeks away from the official start of basketball season. Tubby’s Tip-off is scheduled for the evening of Friday, October 16th at 7:30 pm. You’ll have a chance to meet the players and coaches, see the team’s highly touted recruiting class in action during a scrimmage, watch a three point shooting contest, try to interpret whatever it is Damian Johnson is saying, and see this in person.
