Krys Faber, the mildly touted great rebounder but horrible free throw shooter has signed with DePaul. The Gophers were reportedly at the top of his list until last weekend. While it would have been nice to have a big body, the Gophers are already bringing in plenty of size, and still have Jonathan Williams from last year. By all accounts, Faber and Williams are at the same level in terms of talent and playing style. This isn’t a huge loss.
Minnesota now turns its lonely eyes to Verdell Jones for some help at the point guard spot. Even if they don’t get him, they will have one of their best recruiting classes ever, and will save Tubby an extra headache or two. Five new players is a lot already.
