I won’t be writing a customary preview for the Gophers. If you have even glanced at this blog over the last few months, you should have a general idea of what I think of this team. Any NCAA tournament dreams were dashed when Minnesota lost to UNLV last week, but even squeaking into the NIT with a rough conference season will be quite the accomplishment after last season. Because the entire Big Ten conference is down, the Gophers will need to be one of the top 4 teams in the conference to even be on the bubble, but this is wishful thinking. I’m looking forward to being in The Barn on a mild march night when the Gophers play their first NIT game.

How they’ll do:

Wins: Northwestern, at Penn State, at Michigan, Wisconsin (yes…wishful thinking), Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Penn State,

Losses: at Michigan State, Indiana, Michigan State, at Ohio State, at Northwestern (yes, unwishful thinking), at Wisconsin, at Purdue, at Indiana, at Illinois

Record: 8-10 (18-13 overall) NIT is better than nothing.
